About the Center

As the worldwide adoption of mobile communication services rises, delivering seamless coverage to anyone, anywhere, and at any time becomes essential. The upcoming sixth-generation systems will integrate terrestrial cellular networks with non-terrestrial satellite systems into one unified, 3D architecture. SMART-6GSAT gathers world-class Swedish and international experts to establish a globally recognized knowledge base and ecosystem, create standards-relevant concepts, and realize sustainable, secure, robust, and seamless connectivity across integrated terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. The Center focuses on four research areas and advances three cross-cutting objectives: Sustainability & Energy-Efficiency, Reliability & Resilience, and Interoperability & Ubiquitous Intelligence.
